The 39 Steps
Producers – Kate Edington & Kevin Stout Director – Paula Whitaker Sept. 13-15 & 20-22, 2019 Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have the intriguing, thrilling, riotous and unmissable comedy. The show hurtles a notorious fugitive and a spellbound blonde from a London music hall north by northwest to Scotland’s most remote highlands. Will they save Britain from a den of devious spies? This is a fast-paced tale of an ordinary man on an extraordinarily entertaining adventure. |
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
Producer – Kate Edington Director – Amy Edington-King Dec. 6, 8 &13-15, 2019 In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids–probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won't believe the mayhem - and the fun - when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on! This delightful comedy is adapted from the best-selling Young Adult book, and has become a holiday staple for groups across the United States! Features plenty of great roles for children and adults, a few favorite Christmas Carols, and a lot of laughs! |
Fundraiser: My Favorite Things
Producer – Dawn Stone Director – Jay Mills Jan. 17 &18 2020 My Favorite Things is the theme for this year's Lebanon Theatre Company annual Fundraiser and musical revue. With lovely performances by our talented cast and music direction by the great Jay Mills, you are in for a delightful evening. Unlike our past "gala" events, this fundraiser is a non-dinner event, enabling us to significantly lower the ticket price. However, there will be a cash bar and snacks available for purchase. |
The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940
Producer – Kurt Percy Director – Abby Smith Mar. 6-8, 2020 (second weekend canceled due to Coronavirus Pandemic) The creative team responsible for a recent Broadway flop (in which three chorus girls were murdered by the mysterious "Stage Door Slasher") assemble for a backer's audition of their new show at the Westchester estate of a wealthy "angel." The house is replete with sliding panels, secret passageways and a German maid who is apparently four different people- all of which figure diabolically in the comic mayhem that follows when the infamous "slasher" makes his reappearance and strikes again. |
Assassins
Producer – Kate Edington Director – Wayne Dunn Canceled due to Coronavirus Pandemic In this darkly humorous musical review, Stephen Sondheim (music and lyrics) and John Weidman (book) depict nine misfit men and women who attempted (four of them successfully) to assassinate American Presidents. While every nation has its assassins and would-be assassins, only in America, the authors suggest, do disturbed and disturbing individuals act not because they hope to influence national politics, but because they are wrapped up in a malignant sense of entitlement. Feeling betrayed by the failed promise of American democracy and the American Dream, they strike out at the symbol for America: the American President. Assassins spans several musical styles and many decades in a dizzying series of musical and theatrical inventions that culminate in the assassination of John F. Kennedy. |
